Northern BC Therapeutic Community - A Residential Addictions Recovery Program

Provided by Connective Support Society

A long-term residential recovery program for men. Located 30 km southwest of Prince George, BC.
Northern BC Therapeutic Community is a safe community for 30 residents to build community while focusing on recovery from substance use challenges. At this 150+ acre property, 30km south-west of Prince George, residents will receive safe, secure housing and 24/7 person-centered wraparound services that are tailored to their self-identified needs and goals. Connective staff will provide meal programs, life and employment skills training, and health and wellness support.

In this safe and secure environment, participants will have the opportunity to reconnect with nature and engage in agricultural activities – caring for animals, harvesting, beekeeping, and more – while reclaiming and rebuilding their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Using community itself as the primary vehicle for change, residents are encouraged to share experiences, grow within a supportive setting, and develop the tools they need to sustain long-term recovery.

Stays at the program will range from six to twelve months and be broken into three distinct phases – orientation, transformation, and reunification. Aftercare services are also provided by a transition counselor and are available up to a year after completing the program.
Admission Criteria: Residents must be over the age of 19, and seeking recovery from problematic substance use.
Cost: Daily fees for program participants are based on per-diem funding from the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction. This funding model is only accessed for the days a resident lives at NBCTC. Residents will be informed if this funding model changes. There are no outside fees and no security or damage deposits needed. Publicly funded beds are available.
